Heritage Open Days

This September, 50 buildings in Liverpool of every stage, style and age opened their doors to visitors. The great number of buildings included our own Liverpool Lighthouse.

.

When Love and Joy Ministries purchased the former Gaumont Palace Cinema in Anfield in 1998, they had no idea of the site’s rich history. Having been derelict for nearly 20 years, the vision was to use the building as a venue to educate and transform communities. It took five years of public and private funding and a lot of volunteers to refurbish the building and in November 2003, HR Duchess of Gloucester officially opened Liverpool Lighthouse.
